This is a rich and eclectic CD with the acoustic folk sound that Snow fans have grown to love and it also includes a little blues, a little rock and a lot of incredibly positive, fun and even spiritual songs. There's passion, there's humor and a common thread of a positive message that we are always at choice as to how we view and make a difference in our world. The diversity as well as the positive slant of Christy's music could be part of what led the Lee County Courier in Tupelo, MS to describe Christy as "A southern Ani DiFranco (who is) more prone to turn a positive message (and whose) voice has more range and is more powerful."

"Change Is Good" delivers the same poignant lyrics that have caused reviewers to make comments like these from the El Paso Scene in El Paso, TX. "Lyrics that challenge you to think, encourage you to feel and open you up to laugh, love and enjoy life." "This North Carolina singer-songwriter is one you could listen to all day...rich, comfortable yet forceful vocals, fluid and sometimes percussive acoustic guitar...Christy could change the world with her songs" says Indie-Music.com. Don't miss what the Charlotte Observer calls an "unforgettable performance!"

REVIEW BY ~ Les Reynolds ~ www.indie-music.com

Quote: "There's a richness in these tunes that is real and wonderful".

Coming from Christy Snow, the saying "Change is Good" really IS good. She's released a beautiful 14-song CD full of tunes about embracing change, living life on your own terms and in tune with a higher consciousness. Heard all that stuff before? Sure, there are people in the world (artists among them) whose facade speaks of spiritual enlightenment and peaceful existence in the world while their real inner selves speaks of anything but those things. Well, Christy's the Real Deal. You don't even have to know her at all to get the sense that her songs are from her own life and she's living them in the here and now. And, while her trademark folksy, warm fluid voice and songwriting anchor this CD, the North Carolina musician has changed a bit -- and it's really good.

For instance: there's a new level of production quality on this one. Multi-instrumentalist Chris Rosser's technical expertise and musical knowledge helped create a clear, clean and entertaining sound. Renee Leboa, an outstanding vocalist on her own, lent some gorgeous support on a few tunes that turned them into sparkling gems. And, Christy's own acoustic guitar playing seemed more interesting this time with little nuances and more emotion. (She sometimes runs her thumb down the low E string...oooh, shiverrrrrr!) One more instrumental note (uh, pun not intended but left here anyway): percussion is also quite prominent -- tastefully and artfully done by Jordan Marshall and Renee. Lyrics are just what you'd expect from Christy, but that's not to say it ever becomes boring. Predictability seems to actually work in her favor -- it's really wonderful to hear someone actually able to explain what it's like to grow spiritually, realize something big and cosmic -- and in everyday language. (from the title track): "maybe this illusion of discontent is what keeps us forever pushing on grateful but seeking never growing complacent with life's song there is always change ...and change is good..." "It's Time" comes from Christy's own life-changing decision to make a huge leap of faith: "she said tell me what it is you're waiting for who holds the key to your freedom's door what is it you mean you need more time don't you think it's time to be what you seek now time to love who you are, time to want what you have loving life right where you are it's time... so pay attention to what your intention is be aware of where your thought lives speak your word and know the power you have we all cause what we lack or have, yeah we help create what we lack or have, it's time, don't you think it's your time."

But it's not all personal growth and empowerment...there's some fun in there, too. A toe-tapping folk/country-blues number called "Love is Love" certainly speaks volumes with its lyrics, but it's a fun song to listen to (and Renee's harmony vocal will give you goosebumps!) "well if you're forbidden fruit, i can sympathize with eve and if you're against the rules baby, now i will surely grieve but you're too holy to be evil and too good to be bad i tell ya now darling you're the best i ever had young or old, black or white, it's not wrong or right when it's love, young or old, boy or girl it's all the same for the world so don't tell me what to feel..."

Another fantastic tune is "Gourmet Coffee Blues" with Chris's slide guitar weaving in and out of a travel song about cravings: "i was driving one day up around mid illinois when i saw a sign off the interstate said "gourmet coffee come enjoy" so i hit the exit hard and fast and followed a .2 mile sign... finally found casey's coffee shop and much to my surprise case's was actually a circle K in disguise..." These songs will make you smile, cry, think and sometimes just be. There's a richness in these tunes that is real and wonderful. Christy's gift to us seems very well summed up in one of her choices of quotes in the liner notes: "You are not here to please other people or to live your lives their way. You can only live it your own way and walk your own path." (Louise Hay)

Christy's latest CD, Change Is Good, is a fresh look at life that reminds me of vintage folk music from the late 60's and early 70's. Christy searches out the rainbow in songs such as "Change is Good" and "Safe".  ~Lee County Courier, Tupelo, MS

Acoustic guitar, a voice like kd lang and Tracey Chapman, moody harmonica along with storytelling and humor...that's Christy's first live recording.

Christy is a North Carolina native whose talents are now being enjoyed all over the world, due in part to her coast-to-coast touring, the national and international airplay, and the worldwide distribution of her music. She has produced and independently released five CDs with the latest being an April 2003 release, "Change Is Good". Her CDs have received praise for her lyrics that encourage you to think and feel and open you up to laugh, love, and enjoy life. In the words of Les Reynolds of Indie-Music.com, "This North Carolina singer-songwriter is one you could listen to all day...rich, comfortable yet forceful vocals, fluid and sometimes percussive acoustic guitar...Christy could change the world with her songs."

Once Christy graduated with her degree in Marketing in 1991, she began pursuing a full time career recording and performing her music. In 1996 she decided to take a break from music and took a job as a Marketing Specialist. She enjoyed the challenges and promotions she received during the next three years but could not overcome the desire to follow her heart and her music and therefore slowly began performing and recording again. In July of 1999, shortly after the release of her second CD "Solid Ground", she left Corporate America and began pursuing her music career full time with a new sense of direction and purpose. In 2000 she released her first live CD "Awake & Alive", which gives the listener a peak into Christy's captivating live shows. Then in 2001 she released her first instrumental CD of all Native Flute music. Her fifth CD "Change Is Good" is filled with intorspective, positive and life affirming insights and is her richest work yet.

Christy Began adding New Thought Churches to her tours in 1999 as her positive outlook on life and beliefs in equality, worth and love began to shine through in her music. Her music has been described as both playful and spiritual. She includes in her shows all types of songs from passionate musings such as "Sugar Cane Candy" to songs like "Stand In Love" about the belief in unity and the healing power of love. Christy has a very diverse folk style of music, as she accompanies herself with acoustic guitar but also moody harmonica rifts and the Native Flute.

Her current beliefs are a mixture she often refers to as New Thought-Pagan-Native American-Buddhist, which probably has something to do with why her music is sort of Spiritual-Folk-Pop-Rock-Americana. You can just call it "Good" for short.

"Awake & Alive...I simply love it...this one is just priceless!!" ~ Les Reynolds/Indie-Music.com

"Snow's latest disc, 'Awake & Alive,' amazingly, was recorded in one night at a coffeehouse in Charlotte. Her music is straightforward and straight from the heart. (Her) folk songs range from musings about love and lust, to breaking societal molds... being positive even though things can get difficult." ~ Colorado Daily - Boulder, CO

Positive music in celebration of life and living from love and acceptance.

Christy is a Keynote Speaker, Singer/Songwriter, Producer, Spiritual Teacher and Native Flute Instructor and Flautist. Her work as a musician began in 1991 with the birth of her acoustic music career. Her talents and her career have expanded since then into global awareness of her gifts. Her music began to shift, revealing her introspective and spiritual perspectives on life in 1999 when she began studying world religions and spirituality in a deeper way and shortly thereafter she began teaching self love and self empowerment work through music. She is now Co-Spiritual Leader of a thriving and dynamic Spiritual Community in Charlotte, NC called the Center For Positive Living.

In addition to building a thriving spiritual community in Charlotte, Christy sees the world as her spiritual community. She is passionate about being the change she wishes to see in this life and being that change lovingly and authentically. She is devoted to positive change on the planet by living a life of acceptance and unconditional love and teaching others to do the same. Her music and her message is global, as she teaches through workshops, retreats, concerts and speaking engagements worldwide. Christy works on various committees for conferences and retreats with organizations such as the Centers For Spiritual Living as well as various other associations. She facilitates retreats annually at Unity Village in Lee's Summit, MO and other locations in the states and beyond.

Christy’s discography includes; three folk CDs, four meditative Native American Flute CDs and 1 New Thought influenced folk CD, “Change Is Good”. "Change Is Good," delivers her ever-present message that we are always at choice as to how we view and make a difference in our world. Indie Music has been quoted to say that "Christy could change the world with her songs.” The latest CD is the first of three Spiritual Chants called “I Sing My Love” released in January of 2009.

Christy’s flute music is enchanting. This meditative music is much more than just relaxing, it is healing and transformational. The first of the flute CDs, “Remembering The Way,” put to use the power of intention through music. Christy focused her energy and intention on each topic allowing each track to be Spirit led and healing. “Spirit Dance” captured the sacredness and intensity of the New Mexico desert where it was recorded live in 2004. The most recent of Christy’s flute CDs was released in 2007 and was recorded with fellow recording artist Jack Fowler. This new CD “Spiraling Into Infinity” is sure to be a favorite among yoga instructors, massage therapists and meditation groups. This new CD introduces a different approach adding Jack’s atmospheric keyboard music but also the selections on this CD were played in seven specific keys to energetically guide the listener/participant through a healing chakra experience.

As a musician and speaker Christy brings to life the teaching of oneness, self love, compassion and acceptance through her delivery; rich with real life anecdotes, humor and storytelling. Christy believes that we are each our own spiritual authority and as a spiritual teacher her job is to assist others in tuning into their inner guidance of love and peace, through which all things are possible.

A Native Flute journey, with Native Drums and Didgeridoo. This trance like instrumental music is perfect for meditation, massage, healing body work or simple relaxation.

On May 3rd 2011 I entered Hollow Reed Studios in Asheville to once again have the privilege of working with the very talented Chris Rosser! This latest recording project is a Native Flute CD that is a trance-like experience. The only instruments on the CD are Native Flute, Native Drum and the Didgeridoo. I chose the word “Attune” instead of Attuned as this CD is an offer of action, an invitation to the listener to attune to the ancient energy of oneness. You will hear the Native Drum carry the heartbeat of mother earth and our connection to her and to all life. You will experience the didgeridoo, an amazing aboriginal instrument made from plant and animal (wood and termite) working together to produce this fabulous resonance. Most prominently you will hear the Native Flute; symbolic of the breath of life that blows through each of us in every moment and as we each breathe the same air as the person next to us we realize we are actually connected through the very air we breathe. Each of these instruments speaks to the infinite and profoundly intimate connection of all life. The CD Attune To The Ancients came to me in a vision and I mean that quite literally. I was having body work done and during this massage and healing energy session I felt myself move sort of into a trance state. I was aware of being blissfully unaware and sort of floating in and out of thoughts and feelings. Then during this in between state a flash of 5 CD covers appeared in my mind’s eye. I could see the titles and feel the energy of each. They were each very different; some prayerful vocal CDs, some folk CDs and some Native Flute. There were no background influences of music playing or anything else during my energy session and I was not then nor had I been thinking about recording but none the less there they were, CD covers and titles popping into my head. Since Attune To The Ancients was the first title to pop into my awareness I decided it should be the first to be recorded and I began making plans for a trip to the studio. That was in the fall of 2010.

May 3rd 2011 was the first day in the studio to record this new flute CD. This is my 12th recording (10th CD as two of those recordings were in the days of cassettes). In all of my years of recording since 1990, this was the first time that I ever entered a studio so completely detached from an outcome and yet purposefully, easily and beautifully guided and directed. It doesn’t hurt to have Chris Rosser at the helm of the sound board as engineer; he always makes the studio work effortless. Then I was blessed to be joined by John Vorus playing the mesmerizing didgeridoo, his work was flawless and exactly what I wanted, even though I didn’t really know what I wanted when we started. My friends Kathy Groce and Dotty Holley joined me in playing the Native drums and the three of us followed the wind instruments until all of the sounds became one.

This CD unfolded much like a folk song in the sense that it is a story. The story of creation AND evolution honoring our path of oneness. I believe we all came from the same God stuff and that we were born out of an ever evolving Universal energy of love and creativity and that this Infinite intelligence expresses as everyone and everything. Much like our evolution as a species and as a planet I believe that we each have our own internal evolution and perpetual creation story taking place and that to the degree that we can Attune To The Ancients, we can awaken to a life of limitless good and possibility. We can learn much by looking at the wise traditions that came before us. All of the world’s religions carry within them the perennial philosophy of oneness and co-creation with a Beloved presence by many names. So attuning to the ancients is tuning into infinite ever present wisdom, it is tuning in to the still small voice within, it is tuning in to the oneness and connection of all life as integral parts of God’s creation. Attuning to the ancients is a journey of awakening that shakes the dust of complacency off of our boots and leaves us dancing to the rhythm of life continually moving within and around us.

I am grateful for this journey, for the gift of awareness and for all of you who choose to attune to the ancients with me and open up to this continually evolving process of life. Enjoy the journey! Christy

12/15/01 I wanted to tell you all a little about "Remembering The Way". The first day I played a Native flute the doors to my heart flew open and it was like coming home. It was as if I already knew how to play it and was just "remembering" how. That is one of the main reasons I decided to call this CD "Remembering The Way". Playing these flutes has been a healing force and an inspiration in my life. One of the most interesting things to me is how a different song seems to emerge when I simply focus on an object or a topic. I first noticed this while playing my flute sitting on a rock in the middle of the river in the mountains at one of my favorite campsites. That was such a heightened experience for me and the feelings I had just being there were conveyed in the notes that were flowing from the flute. Then later when accompanying my friend Rev. Lisa Stewart on a guided meditation, I found that I was playing what she was saying. I was doing this instinctively without trying to. Then last Spring when I was touring in New Mexico I had a conversation with a friend about studies that have been done to prove that a musicians intent behind a song is actually conveyed though the vibrations of the song. I thought that was fascinating, so then I started focusing on my intent while I wrote as well as performed my music. From there the idea of how I would record my flute cd was born. When I was meditating on the CD just before recording it I decided on the topics that I would focus on while playing. I wrote them down and then one by one I allowed the songs to be born from my intentional thoughts about each topic, right then and there in the studio. I hope you enjoy this reflective and healing journey. With love, Christy

" As a professional yoga teacher, I am always searching for ways to introduce my beginning students to their bodies, of helping them to connect with the beauty and magic of their inner selves. Having incredible music to help guide me and to soothe the students is such a tremendous help! Remembering the Way by Christy Snow is a treasure trove of beautiful Native melodies that I find myself using over and over again, primarily because it blends so perfectly with the peaceful atmosphere I strive to create in my yoga studio. This hauntingly beautiful music easily moves the listeners spirit to a more restful and serene state, allowing me to more easily work with a yoga practitioners breath and body. Christy's wonderful talent has made my job 100% more pleasant, and I recommend this spiritually satisfying CD to everyone! Thanks Christy! " ~Sheron McGuire C.Y.T. Baltimore, MD

"I want to tell you that I absolutely love your flute album - I very often put it in my clock radio CD player, to wake up to in the morning. A magnificent and serene way to start the day!" Rev. Karen Wolfson - Sarasota, FL

The feminine voice of the enchanting Native Flute guides you over the high desert of New Mexico where this intensely moving flute CD was recorded live. Ideal for meditating, yoga, massage, or just relaxing.

Spirit Dance was recorded live in the high desert of New Mexico at the Good Life Inn in High Rolls (www.goodlifeinn.com). A blanket of stars provided a silhouette of the San Andres Mtns. and the crickets provided a backdrop as I played my flutes. I reflected on the magic and the sacredness that New Mexico is to me as I allowed my heart to lead the way in this totally unrehearsed Native Flute recording. Thank you Good Life Inn, New Mexico and Spirit that danced from my heart and my flutes! Enjoy...Christy
